In 1983 he obtained a doctorate and the qualification Dr. rerum naturum with a dissertation in the field of biochemistry. He has been employed at Miele from 1985 to 2015 in the Professional product division and was responsible for the development of solutions to various problems in the field of applications technology, with the focus on machine-based cleaning and disinfection methods.
